Betting on the line is the simplest wager. The concept is simple enough: Players bet on whether the roller will make his number or not. You can also bet against the roller making his number, known as "don't pass". Both of these bets are even money.
If you bet the roller will pass on his first roll of the dice (the "come out" roll) and he rolls a 7 or 11, you win. After the first roll no.7 is a loser.
If he rolls 2, 3 or 12 you lose.
The casino gains its advantage by taking bets from the "pass" players on the 12 and not paying off the "don't pass" players.

This is one of the fairest games at the casino. Those players that play a basic game have a good chance to win, especially if you play a single deck game where the dealer must stand at 17.
If you learn how to count cards though you will have an advantage over the house!
THE BASIC STRATEGY
Hit your 16 versus the dealers 7.
Stand on 13 versus the dealers 6.
Double down on your pair of 5's versus the dealers 8.

In short this game is no more than heads or tails, even though casinos make it look like only Omar Shariff can play it.
Two hands of cards are dealt, the player with a point total closest to 9 wins.
The casino gains its advantage by a rule that you pay a 5% commission to the bank on your winnings.

| BAD BETS - The one exception to the 5.26% edge rule is the five number combo 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3, which gives the house a 7.29% edge. |
